What is your definition of Knowledge Management?

Knowledge Management enables us to protect, consolidate, and make our organization’s information accessible to all the players involved in the development of our projects, increasing operational efficiency and process optimization with a view to continuous improvement. The correct management of company information enables us to make design and engineering choices that make a difference and are the basis of the value-creation process. This gives each of our projects a specific identity derived from the skills and experience gained over the years.

What motivated you to participate in the Cluster project?

The themes of “Knowledge management” form the basis of our daily work: the consolidated structure of the SIAD MI Knowledge base has always been cultivated with great attention. In particular, in the area of corporate digitalization, we are introducing new technologies and tools to make the knowledge base more usable and dynamic. Therefore, we took the opportunity of the Cluster project to share the path undertaken and discuss the methods and approaches used. The contribution of the Intellimech team to the evaluation of the introduction of Artificial Intelligence tools was fundamental: the innovative potential that AI represents brings with it the need to fully understand the risk and opportunity factors that may arise. The discussion during the Cluster enables us to evaluate the potential of the technologies that we have implemented even better, helping to define possible future areas of intervention.

What objectives does your company pursue through this initiative?

SIAD MI wants to preserve its significant technological value. It is, therefore, essential to consolidate and protect the knowledge base that generates this value; making corporate knowledge usable and shared in a methodical and structured way is essential for facing the challenges of the future with increasingly cohesive teams that aim for growth, development and innovation. The possibility of being able to compare ourselves in a workgroup with other companies with the same requirements is certainly a unique opportunity for growth to be fully exploited.
